Former mayor Daniel Ceballos does not rule out running his name as a candidate for the presidency

Daniel Ceballos reported that he is working on a proposal and on a new political party that will probably be called Andina. He asserted that he is open to criticism and that he will be tolerant of the approaches made to him in favor of making political organizations adapt to the country’s requirements.

The former mayor of San Cristóbal Daniel Ceballos stated that he could present himself as a candidate for the 2024 presidential elections, but clarified that said decision will depend on whether the final sentence of the trial that followed him for 10 years, in which his political rights were restored, is respected.

However, Ceballos warned that he will have a concrete proposal by 2024 but said that he does not want to generate any expectations regarding an eventual candidacy, since there is still nothing concrete.

“I would like to tell you with great responsibility that it is planned to build a new project for the country, and in due course we will make the announcements because I do not consider it responsible that we do it when we are not sure, and that happens even because that sentence that says that I am fully qualified is taken to an enforcement court and verified by the CNE,” he said.

He explained that he is currently focused on preparing the government proposal that is different from what is already known, since he asserted that different things should be tried after 20 years. In this sense, he asserted that he is open to criticism and that he will be tolerant of the approaches made to him in favor of making political organizations adapt to the country’s requirements.

For this reason, Daniel Ceballos announced that Andina is a new political party in which he is working and that it will not have a “traditional structure.” He added that, although they are still defining whether that will be the name of the political organization, they are in the process of processing before the CNE.

“It is not that we are going for the others, we are going to annihilate the other, it is not that I am going to ignore the other or take it off yourself to put myself on, we have been doing this for 20 years and it has not led us anywhere,” he said.

He considers that the political awning that he intends to create is to help the emergence of new leadership and new ideas despite the criticism and threats that may arise from the Executive or the opposition itself.
