The Spanish jurist Baltasar Garzón affirmed that the accusations made by the United States against President Nicolás Maduro lack any factual support, in addition to presenting contradictions and permanent changes that show their instrumental nature.
The Spanish judge maintained that, although the judicial process promoted from Washington could continue in formal terms, this does not imply that the accusations have real legal consistency. “Another thing is the consistency or inconsistency of the accusations. The indictment that exists against Nicolás Maduro has no factual support.”
He explained that the US Administration itself has been modifying its narrative, particularly in relation to the alleged existence of the so-called “Cartel of the Suns”, of which Maduro was designated for years as the leader.
