Former government officials Duque express support for former president Álvaro Uribe

Former government officials of President Iván Duque Márquez signed a letter through which they expressed their solidarity with former president Álvaro Uribe Vélezin the face of the judicial decision issued against him.

“We reiterate our commitment to the Social State of Law, the independence of the branches of public power and due process as fundamental pillars of our democracy. According to the signatories of the letter “Presumption of innocence of former president Álvaro Uribe remains intact and we are certain that, in the appeal stage before the Superior Court of Bogotá, an impartial, objective and rigorous evaluation of the facts and the evidence legally incorporated into the process will be carried out”.
