The initial hearing was held on November 12, after Reyes Reyes was detained based on an arrest warrant. This Monday the continuation of the hearing was held, in which the Criminal Procedure Control Judge, Yolanda Mora Silva, decided to link the case.
“Once the data and arguments had been presented, both by this Prosecutor’s Office and by the defense of the accused, the control judge resolved that there was sufficient reliable data to link Germán “N” to the trial for the crime of aggravated homicide,” he indicated. the Prosecutor’s Office in a statement.
As part of her resolution, the judge gave a period of one month for the complementary investigation and maintained the precautionary measure of preventive detention, so the accused will continue inside the Social Reintegration Center (CERESO) of Chilpancingo.
The Guerrero Prosecutor’s Office accuses the former local official of having ordered the criminal group “Los Ardillos” to murder the mayor for refusing to appoint officials from said criminal organization to his cabinet.
The homicide occurred on October 6 on a ranch in the municipality of Quechultenango, after the mayor was heading to the community of Tepechicotlan to deliver support.
A merchant, identified as Domitilo Cándido Pila, told the authorities that on October 27 he was kidnapped in the community of Petaquillas by members of the community police, who took him to a ranch in Quechultenango where they tortured and extorted him.
The witness narrated that, during his captivity at that ranch, he overheard the conversation of his kidnappers that three people, one nicknamed “El Jimi”, another “El Junior” and an individual named Marco Antonio Osorio Castrejónthey identified Germán Reyes as the intellectual author of the mayor’s crime.
Cándido Pila was released by “Los Ardillos” and went to the Prosecutor’s Office to present his complaint and narrate the events, however, a few days later he was found dead inside his home.
