Former Bolivia coach, Nelson Acosta, fights for his life due to respiratory arrest

The former technical director of the Bolivian national team, Nelson Bonifacio Acosta, suffered a respiratory arrest early Friday morning, according to Chilean media reports. Acosta is hospitalized fighting for his life at the Isamédica clinic, in the city of Rancagua (Chile).

Due to Acosta’s delicate state of health, the clinic, at the request of the family, indicated that All information regarding the Uruguayan-Chilean will be kept confidential.

International media maintain that Acosta had to be admitted to intensive care to stabilize it. In 2021, the former DT from Bolivia and Chile stayed in this same clinic for a month as a result of Alzheimer’s, which he has suffered since 2017.

Acosta led Bolivia in 2003-2004 for the qualifying rounds for the 2006 World Cup in Germany.
