While the federal government sends the initiative to reform the Federal Labor Law on work on digital platforms, at least two important groups of collectives have made their proposals known, ranging from establishing whether to clarify the status of the employment relationship with the platform , until the granting of social security and the possibility of unionization.
The first group of workers, in which there are around 50 organizations from all over the country, presented the document Manifesto of Minimum Floor of the Workers of Digital Platforms, whose purpose is that they have recognition as workers and not as partners, social security with tripartite contribution and the maintenance of labor flexibility, which has already been delivered to the Ministry of Labor and Social Welfare.
Meanwhile, the second group in which there are groups such as Ni Un Repartidor Menos, Nosotrxs, Ni Una Repartidora Menos; They joined the companies DiDi, Rappi and Uber, to form a 10-point document in which, although they ask for a definition for a New Regulatory Framework for the Collaborative Economy, it does not detail whether they seek recognition as workers or they will continue to be partners.
In the presentation of the decalogue that the companies announced together with the collectives, the workers who presented the Minimum Floor Manifesto attended, and reported that there are three fundamental aspects to advance in the regulation: it is about the recognition of the labor relationship ; social security and the right to organize a trade union.
In the country it is estimated that there are 500,000 workers who use the applications as part of their work. Saúl Gómez, spokesman for Ni Un Repartidor Menos, said that “the decalogue aims to lead the conversation to an unprecedented, innovative regulatory framework that benefits all parties.”
