He employment formal employment at the national level increased 4.1% in December 2025, which meant that 249,000 jobs were added compared to the same month a year earlier, revealed the Central Reserve Bank (BCR).
In the case of formal jobs in the private sector, an increase of 5.4% was recorded, adding more than 4.4 million people to the electronic payrolls.
By sectors, the BCR reported that the services sector is the one that registers the largest payroll with more than 2.2 million people. In this case, the growth recorded was 4.3%, according to data from the monetary entity.
Other sectors that also registered significant progress in the last month of 2025 were mining (10.9%), agriculture (9.4%), construction (6.8%), commerce (4.3%), manufacturing (3.1%), electricity (2.9%) and fishing (0.2%).
“The wage bill of the private sector in real terms increased by 6.1% year-on-year in December, mainly due to the services and commerce sectors,” said the Central Reserve Bank.
