Forest of Hope: a tribute to the victims of covid

The Forest of Hope

A tree whose roots grow stronger, as strong as those of the Forest of Hope, a space inside the Sabana Ecopark Nature Reserve, in Tocancipá, Cundinamarca, where more than 69 thousand plants natives in honor of the victims of covid-19.

“Beyond being a tribute to the victims, this forest is part of the restoration we are doing. Every time families who lost loved ones to the pandemic come, they are seeing the progress of that forest. Here are the souls and spirits of the people who are helping the transformation of a territory that needs it”, says Edwin Pérez, social manager of the Parque Jaime Duque Foundation.

Each of these trees has the name of those who died. Of course, there is one in honor of María Élcida Romero de Pérezand his family is ready to go meet him.

I believe that each planted tree is a meaning of love for those people who marked us in life, and in this case it is my grandmother”, concludes Manuela.

The lack of oxygen of those patients who lost the battle, today is compensated in El Bosque de Bosque de la Esperanza, the place where the souls of the victims of covid-19 dwell.
