Santa Cruz will have, starting this Saturday, August 24, a National Fire Operations Center. In the morning, the center was inaugurated by government authorities.
The Departmental Emergency Operations Committee (COED), the Ministry of Defense, the Ministry of Environment and Water, the Ministry of Health, the National Institute of Agrarian Reform (INRA), the Forest and Land Authority (ABT), among other entities, will unify criteria through this national center.
Through this establishment will be issued, On a daily basis, report on adverse events that are recorded at the national level, according to authorities.
Juan Carlos Calvimontes, Deputy Minister of Civil Defense, explained that this center “will be operational starting today, Saturday, through this center we will provide unique information, both at the central and departmental level, on active fires.”
The authority announced that “At 7:30 p.m., a schedule of all institutions will be made, which will provide unique information, with technical support.” The monitoring center is installed in the capital of Santa Cruz.
