Forest fire razes more than 80 hectares in Lambayeque and threatens nearby villages

A forest fire has devastated more than 80 hectares in Lambayeque, affecting the districts of Incahuasi and Chota.

The fire has destroyed around 20,000 pine trees and areas of brush, while firefighters and local authorities struggle to contain the flames, complicated by geography and a lack of equipment.

Although no victims or livestock losses have been reported, the proximity to hamlets is a cause for concern. Strong winds have intensified the fire, which started yesterday afternoon. This fire follows another that recently occurred in the same area.
