The mayor of Sumbilca, in Huaral, Armando Espinoza, spoke about the forest fire that was reported last Sunday, September 15, in the town of Llancay. According to the mayor, the fire is 300 meters from the urban area, which puts the population in danger.
Speaking to La Razón, Espinoza said that the flames continue to spread because it is difficult to carry out prevention work. He also said that the lack of lighting in the affected area does not allow authorities to continue with their work.
“It is very difficult to work in these conditions. Without light, it is impossible to move forward, and the Civil Defense team is focused solely on keeping the population away from danger.“, held.
In this regard, the entity stressed that residents are worried due to the proximity of the fire. In addition, it said that this is not the first time that a similar event has occurred in the area, since two people recently lost their lives trying to extinguish the flames of their crops.
He then asked for support from the regional and national governments to address this problem, which puts the inhabitants, who are dedicated to agriculture and livestock, at risk.
