Tapachula, Chis., The Jesús El Buen Pastor shelter, located on the border with Guatemala, served around 800 plates of stewed chicken with rice and a glass of horchata water so that migrants could have a Christmas dinner.
Receiving a plate of hot food and having the holiday not go unnoticed was a gesture of hospitality that gave them strength and hope to reach the United States, some of them said.

Olga Sánchez Martínez, founder of the shelter that has been providing humanitarian aid for more than three decades, said that this year it was more difficult to prepare dinner due to the lack of support from society.
