Between January and May 2022, the export of agricultural and agro-industrial products totaled 21,744 million dollars, according to figures reported by the Inegi (National Institute of Statistics and Geography).
This implied a year-on-year increase of 15.5% and was also the most pronounced growth recorded since 1993.
On the other hand, agricultural imports had a value of 17.1 billion dollars.
The agricultural and agro-industrial trade balance has already been positive for eight consecutive years during the period from January to May of each year.
