Foreign Ministry will install 2,543 voting tables to guarantee the vote of Peruvians abroad

Peruvians who live outside the country can now verify if they have been selected as table members for the General Elections 2026, that will take place next April 12through the official portal www.gob.pe/tuvotocruzafronteras

.

With the objective of guaranteeing the right to vote for compatriots abroad, the Peruvian State will install 2,543 voting tables in the 121 consular offices distributed on the five continents.

This deployment is coordinated by the Foreign Ministry in permanent coordination with the electoral organizations of Peru and the local authorities of the host countries.

The National Office of Electoral Processes (ONPE) published the provisional list of 22,653 Peruvians residing abroad who were drawn to assume the position of polling station members.

For each table, three members and six substitutes were designated, who will be in charge of conducting the election day and counting the votes.

In accordance with electoral regulations, in those exceptional cases in which a table has fewer than 25 voters, the consul general or head of the consular section may form it together with two citizens present who belong to that same table.

CONSULTATION OF VOTING LOCATIONS ABROAD

The Your vote crosses borders portal also allows you to consult detailed information about the 218 voting locations enabled abroad, thus facilitating the participation of the 1,210,813 Peruvians eligible to vote outside the country.

The list of board members is provisional. According to the Organic Law of Elections, citizens have a period of three business days after the draw – held on January 29 – to present objections, which will be evaluated and resolved definitively by each consulate.

Those who actually hold the position of polling station member will receive an economic incentive equivalent to 3% of the Tax Tax Unit (UIT), that is, S/ 165. In contrast, citizens drawn by lot who do not appear at the installation of the polling station will be sanctioned with a fine of 5% of the ITU, equivalent to S/ 275.
