Venezuelans who were in Lebanon and Syria returned to their homeland, after having been displaced due to the attacks carried out by the Israeli army, as reported by the Chancellor of the Republic Yván Gil on his Telegram account.
This Monday, 44 people arrived at the “Simón Bolívar” International Airport, 38 of Venezuelan nationality and 6 of Lebanese.
They were received by the vice minister for Asia, the Middle East and Oceania of the Ministry of Popular Power for Foreign Affairs, Tatiana Pugh.
“It fills us with joy to welcome our Venezuelan compatriots who have returned from Lebanon to their Homeland, after having been displaced by the attacks of Israeli genocidal Zionism. Today, finally safe, we celebrate his return as well as the delivery of the donations sent by the People and the Bolivarian Government to the Lebanese people refugees in Syria,” said the chancellor.
Solidarity with the Arab peoples
For his part, the Lebanese ambassador to Venezuela, Elías Lebbos, thanked the Bolivarian Government for its solidarity with the Arab peoples and placed special emphasis on the joy he felt when seeing the 14 children who got off the plane, who, in addition to a hug, received a gift from the Venezuelan authorities, reported a press release from the MPPRE.
“Very grateful to the entire work team of the chancellor (Yván Gil), of our dear vice minister (Pugh). Very grateful for all your work, for supporting our people in these difficult times they are going through, thanks to Venezuela, thanks to the Bolivarian Government,” he emphasized.
The repatriates arrived on the same plane of the Venezuelan Consortium of Aeronautical Industries and Air Services (Conviasa) that took off from Venezuela on October 11 and landed on the 13th in Damascus, with nearly 14 tons of humanitarian aid.
Help from Venezuela
“We have many Latin brothers who are also waiting to be helped to return to their countries. Many with little economic income, others with more, but everyone needs to get out of there,” said Daniela Bolívar, who was repatriated with her mother and children.
He said that in the midst of the brutal Israeli bombing in an area bordering Syria, he collected some of his personal belongings and desperately moved with his family to nearby towns. On this journey, he heard that the Venezuelan Embassy was offering help and approached.
The attacks by the Nethanyau government against southern Lebanon began in early October, which included missile launches and troop incursions by land.
This situation has caused numerous civilians to flee the area, abandoning their homes, many of which have been completely destroyed.
Foreign Minister Yván Gil posted on his Telegram account a photograph of the arrival of Venezuelans who were forced to leave Lebanon.
