This Friday, February 18, the Government of Peru spoke through a statement from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs regarding the discrepancies that exist between Ukraine and Russia, and expressed his full concern. For its part, the Foreign Ministry urged the respective authorities to comply with the Minsk Agreements and Resolution 2002 of the Security Council in order to strengthen tranquility between nations.
“The Government of Peru expresses its concern about the situation of existing tension between Ukraine and the Russian Federation. In this regard, he reaffirms his conviction that the Minsk Agreements and Security Council Resolution 2002 are the legal basis for reaching a political solution to put an end to said conflict,” the statement read.
Likewise, the Government of Peru urged the authorities to resolve political problems through peaceful means and diplomatic negotiations, in order to respect international law and preserve order and tranquility between the countries in dispute.

“The serious tension generated by the questions regarding the security perceptions of the Russian Federation, NATO and Ukraine they must also be resolved exclusively through peaceful means of dispute resolution and diplomatic negotiation between the parties concerned, in strict and absolute respect for international law and the Charter of the United Nations”, expresses the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
Finally, the Foreign Ministry announced that the session of the Security Council of last Friday showed his total willingness for diplomatic collaborations between the Russian Federation and Ukraine, which will seek to generate trust between nations in the shortest possible way.
“The Government of Peru urges that the willingness expressed by all parties at the Security Council session on Friday the 18th of this month, to immediately begin diplomatic consultations and negotiations, be carried out as soon as possible and thus generate confidence to reach a peaceful and diplomatic solution,” the statement concluded.
