The Minister of Foreign Affairs, Yván Gil, received on Monday, February 20, the 25 rescuers from the Simón Bolívar Task Force who were sent to Syria to search and rescue survivors after the earthquake that occurred in that country and in Turkey at the beginning of the month.
Through his social networks, Gil said he was proud to receive the disaster experts after carrying out a “successful” activity in the affected area in Syria “in a spirit of solidarity, multiplying the values of dedication, courage and commitment, planted in our town”.
These officials who traveled to Damascus were also recognized for their work for the work carried out in the Latakia area. The Venezuelans brought with them 12 tons of medicines, food and drinking water.

In recent days, the other half of the Simón Bolívar Task Force arrived in Venezuela, which did work but in the affected areas of Turkey, especially in the city of Adiyiman, where they brought 10 tons of humanitarian aid.

In hours of the night Tuesday February 7 The so-called “Libertador Task Force”, made up of more than 50 search and rescue experts, was dispatched on a Conviasa plane; as well as rescue specialists, to help volunteers and other rescue forces working against the clock in Turkey and Syria to find survivors.
The Minister of the Interior and Justice, A/J Remigio Ceballos Ichaso, highlighted on that occasion that the disaster professionals who are sent to the affected area in Turkey and Syria take with them the first tons of food and supplies that the Nicolás administration Maduro makes available to those affected.
