Foreign Minister rejects US statements in defense of González Urrutia

The Foreign Minister of the Republic, Yván Gil, rejected this Tuesday the interventionist statements by the government of the United States in the voice of the Under Secretary of State for Western Hemisphere Affairs, Brian A. Nichols, who, using social networks, questioned the arrest warrant issued by the Court of First Instance with jurisdiction in crimes associated with terrorism against the former candidate of the extreme right, Edmundo González Urrutia.

Gil responded to the American emissary on the social network Telegram, calling him “an accomplice of the criminal gang that tried to set the country on fire.”

“Nichols’ bullying attitude is a product of the transactions that are carried out in Miami. An accomplice to the criminal gang that tried to set the country on fire after losing the elections, he now throws tantrums when justice reaches the organizers of the violence and the disregard of the public powers,” wrote the Foreign Minister on the social network Telegram.

On the other hand, the highest representative of the Bolivarian Diplomacy of Peace urged the United States to deal with its own problems, while demanding respect for Venezuelan sovereignty,

“The United States must focus on its problems, which it has enough to deal with. Respect our country and our sovereignty. We will continue to move forward despite your hatred and neocolonial pretensions,” Gil said.
