Foreign Minister rejects threats from Southern Command against Venezuela

Foreign Minister Yván Gil rejected the visit to Chile by the commander of the United States Southern Command, General Laura Richardson, who held various meetings with authorities of that nation and participated in a supposed “regional conference on security,” he reported on his Telegram platform.

During her stay in Chile, the American military officer attacked the legitimate government of the president of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, Nicolás Maduro, stating that in the country the “democratic will of the Venezuelan people is allegedly being undermined.”

However, the Venezuelan foreign minister responded to Richardson’s bold statements by emphasizing that “the head of the Southern Command chose to go to Chile, where her predecessors met with Pinochet to direct Plan Condor, which killed thousands of Latin Americans, to talk about democracy.”

Gil reminded him that, currently, in Venezuela, “we are fighting fascism and the heirs of the dictatorships of Latin America, who today dream of reversing the revolutionary processes of our region.”

“The head of the Southern Command chose to go to Chile, where her predecessors met with Pinochet to lead Plan Condor, which killed thousands of Latin Americans, to talk about democracy. She does so by attacking Venezuela, where fascism and the heirs of the dictatorships of Latin America are being fought, who today dream of reversing the revolutionary processes of our region. Her cynicism is enormous! Her ridiculous threats do not serve to motivate the small violent and terrorist groups that in our country have failed again. Mrs. Richardson: Game Over!” the foreign minister posted on his Telegram account.

Finally, Foreign Minister Yván Gil emphasized that Laura Richardson’s “ridiculous threats” do not serve to motivate the small violent and terrorist groups that have failed again in Venezuela.
