Foreign Minister Javier González-Olaechea pointed out that Venezuela and the world is about to witness the fall of the regime Nicolas Maduro and Chavismo in that country. Following the events that followed the fraud in the presidential elections, the Minister of Foreign Affairs recounted how the extraordinary assembly of the Organization of American States (OAS) developed.
“In my opinion, absolutely (regarding the imminent fall of Chavismo). We must remember that the government of Nicolás Maduro ends on January 10. What is coming for Venezuela should be democracy and freedom that all free peoples and democratic governments yearn for, as is Peru and as the president of the republic said in her message of July 28,” he told TV Perú.
In this regard, he also criticized Ronald Sanders, president of the Permanent Council of the OAS, and how he handled the situation within this conference held in Washington DC, in the United States.
“Mr. Sanders’s accusation was false, he said he had shouted, He had hit the table and threatened, which was completely false. That’s why I posted it from my account. What happened was that he was hurt because I told him in front of everyone that he had been trying to deflate the tire and he hadn’t been able to do it because he acted more like a party than a judge,” she continued.
González-Olaechea questioned the lack of objectivity of Ronald Sanders In this type of matter, the chancellor says that at the conference the president did something that he should not have done and that is not usual, such as sending a vote and saying that they were going to lose it.
“When we stood up, the president of the conference did something he shouldn’t have done, something that is not usual, he said ‘let’s go to the vote and you’re going to lose’, but first you talk, it’s like in a board of directors, first you talk and put forward and then you convince your partners, it’s not like we go to the vote and then you talk. And then I realized that it was the hepatic reaction of the president of the conference to go directly to the vote,” he said.
Javier González Olaechea criticised the elections in Venezuela before the OAS: “This process was born fraudulent”
During the extraordinary session of the Permanent Council of the Organization of American States (OAS) on July 31, the foreign ministers of the member countries met to analyze the results of the electoral process in Venezuela. At this meeting, Peruvian Foreign Minister Javier González-Olaechea gave a forceful speech in which he recognized Edmundo González as president of Venezuela and stated that “the electoral process was fraudulent from the first day” due to the cancellation of María Corina Machado’s candidacy.
In addition, González-Olaechea pointed out that the legitimacy of the National Electoral Council (CNE) has been compromised by various irregularities. “Three days after the elections were held, the electoral authority can no longer accept the minutes, because if they could not present them with 20% missing and proclaiming Mr. Maduro, what can we expect 72 hours later?” said the foreign minister.
He also highlighted that Peru has welcomed more than a million Venezuelan exiles, granting them the right to education and public health, despite not having regular immigration status.
