Foreign Minister Gil met with the Palestinian ambassador

The Venezuelan Foreign Minister, Yván Gil, held a meeting with the ambassador of the State of Palestine in Venezuela, Fadi Alzaben, to exchange experiences and coordinate international actions of mutual interest to both nations.

Through Twitter, the Venezuelan foreign minister referred to the “fraternal meeting… to exchange experiences, in addition to coordinating actions in the international area.”

Minister Gil pointed out that the meeting served to ratify Venezuela’s recognition “of the right of Palestine to become a free, sovereign and independent country.”

It is important to note that on April 27, 2009, Venezuela officially recognized the State of Palestine and established diplomatic relations with the Arab nation. Since then both countries have strengthened cooperation agreements in education, economics, trade and energy, as well as in Agriculture, Tourism, Culture, Communication, Sports, Defense, Security and Health.
