The Minister for Foreign Affairs, Yvan Gilheld a meeting on Thursday with the Russian ambassador to Venezuela, Sergey Mélik-Bagdasárov, to discuss the progress of the cooperation agenda that is being developed.
Through his social media accounts, Foreign Minister Gil highlighted that the agenda between both nations is based on a solid political and diplomatic alliance.
“We are pleased to have received the Russian ambassador to Venezuela, Sergey Mélik-Bagdasárov, to have a pleasant conversation about the progress of the significant bilateral agenda that our countries have developed, based on mutual benefit and a solid political and diplomatic alliance” Gil said.
Within the framework of the XVIII meeting of the High Level Intergovernmental Commission (CIAN), last November, Venezuela and Russia signed more than 10 agreements in various areas of cooperation, including the military, technology, energy, education, trade. , finance, air transport and tourism.
Venezuela and Vietnam strengthen alliances
Foreign Minister Gil also reported on a meeting with the Vietnamese ambassador to Venezuela, Vu Trung My, and described the meeting as very productive.
“During this meeting we reaffirmed Venezuela’s commitment to continue strengthening a high-level political and economic alliance between our nations, with the objective of promoting mutual development,” stated Gil.
Next December 18 will mark the 35th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Venezuela and Vietnam, a celebration that will be carried out with political and cultural activities with the purpose of strengthening the alliance between both nations, said the Chancellery.
