According to the CIEP, within the Ministry of Health, the salary of a doctor can differ by up to 33,000 pesos and 19,000 pesos for nursing staff, while a specialist is between 16,768 pesos and 46,702 pesos.
There are also differences between the zones, because while the salary of a specialist doctor A in the High Specialty Regional Hospitals in Ciudad Victoria, Ixtapaluca and Oaxaca is 1,226 pesos less than the salary received in a General Hospital in Mexico City, while the Salary at the Regional Hospital of Bajío is 299 pesos less.
And at the international level?
Internationally, Mexico ranks second among the OECD countries with the lowest average annual salary for specialized medical personnel, only above Poland.
The average annual salary of specialized medical personnel in Chile is 1.5 times higher than the salary in Mexico, given that Mexican professionals receive 61,256 dollars a year, when for Chilean personnel it is around 153,775 dollars.
