Foreign debt in the country is 50.7% of GDP

Colombia's total external debt represents 50% of GDP

The total of Colombian external debt, as of May 30, totaled US$176,085 million, of which the public debt reached $101,418 million and the private one to US$74,668 million, according to the statistics of the Banco de la República.

The total ofe debt represents 50.7% of the gross domestic product compared to 50.4% which it represented in May 2021.

In the fifth month of 2021, the total balance of the Colombian external debt was $157.97 billionthat is to say that in one year it has grown by 11.46%.

In that month the total balance of the public debt was US$92,232 million and the debt private totaled US$65,738 million according to the statistics of the Colombian issuer.
