Santo Domingo.– During the meeting held on Monday with the Plenary of the Central Electoral Board (JCE), the Force del Pueblo (FP) party requested that, within the framework of the process of renewing the identity and electoral card, exhaustive audits are carried out both both to the electoral roll as to the Civil Registry, in order to guarantee transparency and precision in the data that support the Dominican identity and electoral system.
The force of the people stressed that these audits are indispensable, since they have spent 10 years since the last revision of this type was carried out, carried out before the Covid-19 Pandemia.
In this sense, the party considers a priority to determine exactly how many Dominicans are registered and verify who are entitled to vote, ensuring that there are no cases of identity supplant.
Likewise, the party emphasized the need for an audit to the Civil Registry, given the growing concern for the increase in Haitian deliveries in the country and the possible implications in the birth registry.
This will allow to cross the information between both audits, guaranteeing that the records are precise and preventing non -Dominican people to obtain the identity document improperly.
The opposition party declared that the Civil Registry review will also allow the country to be informed if situations of irregularity have been corrected, such as mafias.
