During the year-end festivities, security in the streets of the province of Panama will be reinforced with 600 new units of the National Police, as reported by the General Director of the National Police John Dornheim.
Dornheim said that these units will guard residential areas, areas and commercial centers in places like Pacora, Tocumen, Don Bosco and other sectors of East Panama, as well as the Amador Causeway and other important sectors of the capital city.
The units were instructed on their police work so that they are aware of people who may try to take advantage of the absence of the owners of the cars to commit their misdeeds.
They were also advised to be alert to the presence of possible pickpockets, or criminals who wish to commit aggravated or skilled theft, as well as groups of people who wish to commit armed robbery or other crimes.
The Director explained that these actions will be carried out without neglecting the residential areas and that mobile equipment for patrols and technological tools will be available. Likewise, the police of the National Directorate of Transit Operations will remain on the main roads and various points to expedite vehicular traffic.
Meanwhile, the units of the Police Service for Children and Adolescents will be present in these places to provide recommendations to parents.
