Some 198 people charged for the alleged commission of the crime against the public administration to the detriment of the Land Transit and Transportation Authority (ATTT) were called to trial for the so-called red devil compensation case.
The first liquidator judge of criminal cases of the First Judicial Circuit of Panama, opened a criminal case and set the date of the ordinary hearing from September 1 to 29, 2023, and as an alternate date from October 9 to December 7, 2023, both hearings at 9:00 in the morning.
The judge declared that 337 citizens charged in this case had prescribed the criminal action, also denied the nullity incidents presented by the technical defense and definitively dismissed six people for the charges for the crime against economic patrimony in the form of fraud .
In the resolution, it declared the extinction of the criminal action for the death of two citizens for the aforementioned crimes.
Additionally, the first liquidating judge raised the provisional dismissal to definitive dismissal of 19 citizens of the charges against the public administration.
