This Thursday, in his usual press conference, Gabriela Ceruti He maintained that the Government seeks to advance with the Unexpected Income project, “so that the State can carry out a fairer redistribution of wealth, income and profits.”
The Presidential Spokesperson He stressed that “for the Government, the Unexpected Income project is a priority”, since said income can be used to invest in policies that benefit the most vulnerable sectors, according to what he indicated. Gabriela Ceruti.
“The Government sent in June of this year the Unexpected Income project, which it wants to be discussed in Congress and which is in force in other countries with very good results”explained Gabriela Ceruti.
At the time, the official explained: “This project has to do precisely with the fact that those who have had extraordinary income due to tragic situations of humanity, such as war and the pandemic, can make the contribution through a tax.”
Likewise, he indicated that approving said project is a priority, since “it means greater income for the State that will be able to be redistributed in the policies that many sectors are demanding.”
The spokeswoman also added that this is an issue that President Alberto Fernández is discussing with other international leaders and that the country could implement this measure, which has been successfully developed in other nations such as Italy, Spain and Great Britain.
The Government trusts that this project will be discussed as soon as possible in Congress, since with these resources social investment can be increased and there are currently many companies that made extra profits as a result of the war in Ukraine and the pandemic. These can make that contribution, as considered Cerruti.
Cerruti pointed out that the Government does not define the elimination of the PASO
In the midst of the debate in the country about the possible elimination of the Open Simultaneous and Mandatory Primary Elections (PASO), the spokeswoman express: “The Government maintains that there is a current law, which is the one that summons the PASO and whose process is underway because they are next year”.
In that sense, he explained that “it is an issue that the Executive Power does not define, therefore, it is the Congress that has to define its agenda” and thus debate whether or not the primary elections are eliminated.
