The Buenos Aires Minister of Labor, Walter Correa, considered this Thursday that “there is a tough sector of the business community that not only wants to improve their profits” by raising prices, but also intends to “grind down a Peronist government.”
“Some businessmen play to improve profits, but they go much further and, for something purely political, They work against a national, popular and Peronist government“, said Correa in statements made to Radio Provincia.
After insisting that from a business sector they seek to “grind down a Peronist government”, the Buenos Aires official showed confident that there will be “a slowdown in inflation” and said that for this purpose “the State must be forceful”.
“The Minister of the National Economy (Sergio Massa) tells businessmen: ‘OK, guys, let’s stop a bit.’ I have the expectation that this will gradually decrease,” Correa continued, referring to the rise in prices.
Bonuses and salaries
Then, when asked about the possibility of a bonus being awardedreplied: “If we make the salary projection of a bank worker, it will be 94% as of December. That same projection in a grade teacher will also be 94% and that speaks of Governor Axel Kicillof’s commitment to his workers.”
“Regarding a bond, Economy is in the process of evaluation and analysis. We are organizing technical tables, debating and working with each sector. Nothing is resolved, we are in a process“, he added.
Later, he recalled that former President Néstor Kirchner “returned the parity to the workers and inserted a sum of 220 pesos”, for which he assessed that “the parity is not contradictory with the fixed sum and the bonus.”
In this context, he stressed that the Government understands “that at this juncture, the people cannot make ends meet”; He indicated that “any benefit such as a bonus, a fixed sum, improving parity is welcome” and asserted: “I hope it materializes and the State can give it.”
