For the crime against the economic order in its modality of improper withholding of quotas to the detriment of the Social Security Fund (CSS), the former governor of the province of Coclé, Richard Fifer, could face a sentence of 84 months in prison, as well as reported the Public Ministry detailing that the trial against this former public servant was held today.
The Anti-Corruption Prosecutor’s Office, represented by the superior prosecutor Mahmad Daud Hasan and the deputy prosecutor Olmedo Gómez, indicated that they hope to continue with the presentation of testimonial evidence for tomorrow, Friday.
The authorities indicated that the defendant was the legal representative of two companies, whose amount withheld to the detriment of the CSS is greater than $6 million balboas. The retention of quotas corresponds to the months of October, November, December of the year 2013 and 2014; and the month of January 2015.

This oral trial began on Monday, August 29, 2022, in the Accusatory Penal System in Penonomé and will continue tomorrow, Friday, September 2.
