In the midst of the hectic junction that Silvina Batakis has had in the Ministry of Economy, the official has already begun to be questioned, in particular by representatives of the sightseeingwho criticized the minister’s statements about trips abroad.
The minister maintained: “The right to travel collides with the generation of jobs”, for which businessmen of the sightseeing have described what was said as “an unfortunate phrase that has no support with reality”, since the sector It is one of the most moving the country’s economy.
From the Argentine Federation of Associations of Travel and Tourism Companies (FAEVYT), they issued a statement in which they indicate that are made available to give you all the information you need on how the industry works and added that “the sightseeing emission also generates jobs”.
The president of the association, Gustavo Hani, stressed that the union generates employment “in every corner of the country through more than 5,000 travel agencies, airline employees, insurers, etc.”
And he added: “The minister confuses purchases abroad, which in many cases coincide with an exchange opportunity, with trips abroad that, in their vast majority and contrary to what they want to settle, are not for pleasure, but for some reason. need or commitment, whether work, sports, educational, training, scientific or health”.
This, given that, in dialogue with “A Dos Voces”, Batakis affirmed: “When one makes purchases abroad and they should have gone to the productive sector, they are damaging the future of Argentines. All people have the right to vacations, but we have to manage the reserves for the country to grow. Y We are going to take all the measures so that these reserves are poured into the productive sectors.”.
Given these statements, the president of the Federation responded to the minister: “The inability to generate foreign exchange, jobs and opportunities belongs to officials, not tourism.”
The Government rules out a clamp on tourism
Although the minister assured yesterday that dollars are lost due to trips abroad, she also affirmed that no restrictions will be implemented in the sector: “No restrictive measures will be taken in this regard.”
The economist clarified: “Today Argentina has an excellent tourist offer and wonderful places. If we want to do our bit for the recovery of the country, vacationing in Argentina helps and generates employment and is an excellent option”.
