The Mayor of Avellaneda and former Minister of Territorial Development and Habitat, Jorge Ferraresimaintained that the ruling of the Supreme Court that restores co-participation to the city of Buenos Aires is “political” and that it should have a “political response”, and pointed out that Vice President Cristina Fernández “always puts white on black regarding the present and generates a speech towards the future”.
“They are not judicial rulings, they are political rulings. And they require political responses,” Ferraresi said, in an interview with Télam, about the resolution of the highest court that ordered the national government to allocate 2.95% of the volume of co-participating taxes to the City.
As for the electoral aspect, the communal chief of Avellaneda affirmed that if Vice President Cristina Fernández “has to be a candidate, she will have to be a candidate, because the important thing is that in 2023 the Frente de Todos (FdT) continues to be the government.”
Ferraresi will share this Tuesday at 7:00 p.m. an act with Fernández de Kirchner in Avellaneda, on the occasion of the inauguration of the Municipal Sports Center “Diego Armando Maradona”an opportunity for which a new speech from the vice president with political definitions is expected.
– Mayor, Fernández de Kirchner’s speeches have a high political content. How do you think Tuesday will be?
— Cristina always has a high level of political discourse, conceptually, and it is logical, because she puts white on black regarding the present, and also generates a discourse towards the future.
-Beyond the resignation of candidacies, can a kind of “operational clamor” of the FdT arise through these participations?
– It depends. Building from the political is what Cristina claims the most. She said ‘I’m going to do what I have to do’ and when the time comes it will be seen. Yes it is important, but not fundamental, not defining. Yes, the space contains the government measures for those of us who have to govern. And so, the candidates will have to be at the height of decision-making. That is why there will be an internal FdT debate in the coming months. If Cristina has to be a candidate, she will have to bebecause the important thing is that in 2023 the FdT continues to be the government.
-If the vice president was not a candidate, how will the presidential candidate from space emerge?
-The national candidate has to contain the ideological procedure of the FdT. The name doesn’t matter. The candidate who is prepared to fight ideologically is always fine. c
-And in the province of Buenos Aires, how will the candidates emerge?
-The province of Buenos Aires debate is to order with a primary. Governor Axel Kicillof is the best exponent. Those STEP must be worked on, with all the spaces, in an orderly manner. Some provinces resolved it by splitting elections. In Buenos Aires you have to order to determine the mechanism next year. I will go from candidate to mayor of Avellaneda.
-How do you analyze recent court rulings, such as the Federal Court 2 against the Vice President for the Highway Cause, or the Supreme Court against Milagro Sala and in favor of the City of Buenos Aires for co-participating funds?
-They are not judicial rulings, they are political rulings. And they require political responses. When President Alberto Fernández determined, through Decree 690/2020, that the Internet, connectivity, was essential, the Court ruled against it. It became clear, as Cristina Fernández de Kirchner said, that (Héctor) Magnetto (Executive Director of Grupo Clarín) and the Court are in tune. And the first shameless appearance was in the mansion (in Lago Escondido) of (British tycoon Joe) Lewis (where judges, officials and members of Grupo Clarín traveled).
In the same vein was the political decision against (Horacio) Rodríguez Larreta, so that he can carry out his political campaign. Larreta is aligned with economic groups, the businessmen supported him in this cause and the hegemonic media as well. It is a ruling that seeks to cut jurisdictions. But we will fight.
-There are some positive macroeconomic indicators, including with respect to the pre-pandemic. Has that reached people?
It depends on where. I as a minister saw two regions, the metropolitan and the rest of Argentina. And in the latter, the high level of acceptance by the people of governors and mayors is valued. It has not been possible to specify the expectations in terms of salaries in relation to prices, but in 60 days numbers began to be seen that began to have a positive balance.
-And how did this call for Tuesday come about, with the closing by the Vice President?
-The idea of inaugurating this sports center was defined more than a month ago, which, beyond the impressive sports infrastructure, has the concept of naming places. Thus, the synthetic grass field will have the name of someone who was a councilor for Villa Corina and this neighborhood club, ‘Beto ‘Rodríguez (by Ángel Alberto Rodríguez).
The multi-sports stadium will bear the name of “Russian” (Miguel) Molnar, who played in the first Argentinos Juniors with Maradona (between 1979 and 1980); the Natatorio that of Osvaldo Portas, disappeared swimmer (on August 15, 1977); the Contact Sports Center of Pascual Pérez (boxer who was Olympic gold medalist in London 1948 and world champion between 1954 and 1960); and the futsal microstadium that of “Negro” Héctor Enrique (world champion in 1986), for his football history and for his position with respect to the present and his origin. A monument to Maradona will also be inaugurated, made with very modern technology.
