For "disinforming public opinion": the Ethics Committee of the Convention sanctioned Marcela Cubillos

The Ethics Committee of the Constitutional Convention fined the constituent of the UDI, Marcela Cubillos, for spreading false information in a tweet in November 2021. According to what is detailed in the text of the resolution, the punishment for the former Minister of Education is the payment of 5% of her parliamentary allowance, which would be equivalent to $137,195.

This measure against him was taken after the constituent Alvin Saldaña filed a complaint with the committee on December 3, 2021, accusing him of “lacking probity and misinforming public opinion,” regarding the conventional Francisca Linconao.

The tweet in question stated that: “Republic of Chile, our flag, our anthem… are you going for the cueca now? Conventional Francisca Linconao @ MachiFrancisca1“, Indicated Cubillos on Twitter on November 25 last.

After making this resolution of the Ethics Committee known, f Cubillos turned to Twitter again to manifest: “For this tweet I was sanctioned and fined by the Left in the “Ethics” Commission. Today they notified me and they complain in the resolution of “my lack of collaboration in the process” (smile emoji)”

“Did they expect me to cooperate in the violation of my freedom of expression? They go for everything, but they will not shut us up, ”she closed.
