A few years ago when I left the Presidency of the Federation of Colleges of Economists of the Mexican Republic, a group of colleagues and also from other professions met periodically at my house or in any cafe to see what efforts we could continue to make from organized civil society. to continue contributing to our nation. This is precisely how Nación Incluente emerged, the leading association in inclusive development studies in Mexico, which I am very proud to preside.
Economic growth is necessary for there to be well-being, and the challenge we have at Nación Incluyente is to design and execute public policies that allow us to avoid the concentration of wealth in a few hands, in other words, that there be a more equitable distribution between each one. of those of us who are part of society. As part of our activities, every year we measure the inclusive economic development of Mexico by federal entity, and we prepare a study with strategies that allow a more inclusive participation of the population, governments and companies in economic, social and political life. from the country.
It is a priority to consolidate a Mexico whose economy is at the service of the people, with new models that allow governments to promote companies, companies that promote society and citizens who trust their decision makers, that society-government-company alliance is our main engine and center of our actions.
Along the way we have incorporated assistance programs that allow us to know first-hand the needs of the communities, we sign agreements with institutions such as INEGI, the National Confederation of Municipalities, businessmen and the Federation of Colleges of Civil Engineers, among many others. We have also carried out webinars to train more than 3,000 public officials with important figures such as the Deputy Governor of the Bank of Mexico, Jonathan Heath, Vanessa Rubio Márquez and specialists from the OECD.
Today, thanks to the support of a wonderful team, but also of many Mexicans who altruistically join our work, we are the leading civil association in research and measurement of inclusive development and once again we will present the National Index of Inclusive Development ( INDI) at the headquarters of the El Economista Newspaper, who has also been a strategic ally since we were established and to whom we publicly give affectionate thanks for opening their home to us for this important event.
We have worked very hard to fight for more economic growth, train officials and dignify the public service, have a better social redistribution and reduce the gap between those who have and have not. And almost 5 years after starting this adventure, we know that great changes only require will, and that public officials are not needed to pay for reconciliation and the construction of a more inclusive Mexico.
If you, like us, are a brave Mexican with a lot of will, I’ll be waiting for you this Thursday, February 9 at 6 pm in the auditorium of the newspaper El Economista for the presentation of our INDI, where we will discuss how to have a more inclusive Mexico. , with the special participation of the President of the Business Coordinating Council, Francisco Cervantes Díaz, the Vice President of INEGI, legislators and organized Civil Society.
Only together will we make our Mexico an Inclusive Nation!
