It was through her social networks that the attorney Margarita Cabello reported the decision made around the mayor of Medellín, Daniel Quintero Calle.
The official assured that they had the constitutional and legal competence to “investigate, provisionally suspend and sanction, even with dismissal and disability, all public servants in the country, including those of popular election.”
“Due to the alleged and repeated participation in political activities and controversies, the Office of the Attorney General of the Nation ordered the opening of a disciplinary investigation and the provisional suspension of their positions to the following officials:
- Daniel Quintero Calle, Mayor of Medellin
- Andrés Fabián Hurtado Barrera, mayor of Ibagué
- Gustavo Adolfo Herrera Zapata, councilor of the municipality of Calarcá, Quindío
- Grenfell Lozano Guerrero, representative of Nátaga, department of Huila.
“Democracy has rules and these must be followed. As long as there is no statutory law, no public servant, from the lowest rank to the highest level, can use the position to participate in the activities of political movements and in political controversies, without prejudice to the rights provided for in the Constitution and the law,” added the official.

“The change in first” by Quintero Calle
“The change in first,” said the mayor of Medellín, Daniel Quintero, inside a parked car and in the driver’s seat. An episode that, according to many, joins other actions classified as ‘provocation’.
Then he flicked up the gearbox lever and nodded in satisfaction.
The local president, apparently, was waiting for the traffic light to change from red to green on some street in the capital of Antioquia to start the vehicle. This recording was uploaded to his Twitter account and many believe that his message is alluding to the campaign of a presidential candidate.
Who follows me?”, he asks his followers and a rain of comments and reactions fell on this publication of the paisa politician.
