Coach Pia Sundhage sent to the field a good part of the players who were holders in the conquest of the Copa America, in June, in Colombia. Defender Kathellen (in place of Tainara), midfielder Duda Sampaio (in place of the injured Angelina) and forward Geyse (who replaced Bia Zaneratto, related, but on the bench), reserves in the South American tournament, started this Friday’s game . With the ball at their feet, the team played with a lineup of three defenders and five athletes in the middle, with full-back Tamires and forward Adriana open and midfielders Ary Borges and Duda Sampaio starting the plays in the center.
Brazil missed many passes and took a long time to finish with danger, despite controlling the offensive actions of the first stage. The South Africans bet on long balls and scared in failures of defenders Rafaelle and Antonia in coverage, which were not converted.
The net only swung in the 41st minute, with Geyse. The attacker took advantage of a throw that the opposing defense took away badly, killed in the chest and risked first, from the half-moon, covering the goalkeeper. Three minutes later, forward Debinha escaped on the left and crossed low. The defense failed and Adriana, free, completed for the goal.

In the final stage, South Africa outlined a greater offensive presence, but ran into the technical part. The Brazilians ended up being more efficient. In the 18th minute, Bambanani Mbane tried to clear a ball divided by Geyse and also by defender Janine van Wyk in the small area, but sent it at the feet of Tamires, who appeared on the left. The side dominated and kicked into the nets, expanding the lead.
Even without a shine, Brazil still had chances to increase the score, with striker Gabi Nunes and midfielder Duda Santos, who came off the bench. The best South African opportunity was a dangerous free kick by midfielder Hildah Magaia near the edge of the area, but it passed close to the Brazilian right post.
