In a video published through his social networks, G/J Domingo Hernández Lárez, strategic operational commander of the FANB, showed how loads containing food, water and belongings were dropped from a helicopter to areas of difficult access in Las Tejerías.

G/J Domingo Hernández Lárez, strategic operational commander of the FANB, explained that the National Armed Forces are in the affected areas divided into 23 sectors with 23 commanders, to attend to the needs of the victims.

From twitter account, Hernández Lárez published that the strategy is part of the instructions of President Nicolás Maduro. “The town receives food and water continuously in the most remote places, by dropping loads from helicopters,” he said.

The Minister of Defense, Vladimir Padrino López, reported on Wednesday the 12th that the Armed Forces deployed their aircraft in Las Tejerías, to bring drinking water and food to those affected located in the most difficult to access areas. “We are reaching the most remote places through aircraft from our FANB, helicopters that have been deployed to precisely bring food and drinking water to the most inaccessible sectors,” he indicated.
The landslide that occurred on Saturday, October 8, has so far left a balance of more than thirty people dead, more than 50 missing and approximately 800 homes totally uninhabitable.
