Tribute to Chingaza.
In an emotional gesture of territorial pride and love for nature, The municipality of Fómeque (Cundinamarca), inaugurated its new tourist sign “I love Fómeque”; Symbol of identity, culture and in tribute to the Chingza Natural National Park.
Located at a strategic point of the municipalitythis sign is much more than a postcard. Each letter is carefully designed to represent the values, species and traditions that make this municipality and its deep connection with one of the most important ecosystems in the country.

“This sign is a living tribute to Chingaza, its fauna, its water, its friagons and everything it represents for Colombia. Not only is it an attraction for the visitor, it is a demonstration of who we are as a town, ”said Mayor Esneider Acosta during the inauguration of the monument.
Among the figures that decorate the letters are emblematic species such as the glasses, the puma, the crab fox, the Barbudito of Páramo, the condor of the Andes, the created eagle and the white tail deer —As of them present in the Chingza Natural National Park and some in danger of extinction.

“Each animal carved on this sign reminds us that we are guardians of an invaluable environmental heritage. Chingaza is not only our natural inheritance, it is our responsibility,” The municipal president added.
The design also highlights cultural and patrimonial elements of the municipality:
* The dances and peasant music,
* The traditional wood oven and kneads,
* The majestic Laguna de Chingza,
* The friagons and moors, unique in the world.
All this, as Mayor Acosta pointed out, “Accompanied of the most important thing: our people. Working, Berraca and Resilient people, which gives meaning to each letter of this message.”
This new tourist space has been created with respect, beauty and purpose. From the municipal administration a call is made to all visitors to take care of it and value it as part of the commitment to the land.
“We want every photo taken here not only a beautiful memory, but also an act of love for this generous land that gives us water, life and hope,” The mayor concluded.
With this symbolic act, Fómeque reaffirms his commitment to the conservation of the environment, the strengthening of his cultural identity and responsible tourism.
