With the victory, the Laranjeiras team climbed six positions, reaching 18 points, in 6th position. For Leão da Ilha, the defeat represented a drop of four positions, to 11th with 17 points.
Despite opening the scoring early, just in the 4th minute with the Argentine Cano (who hit the goalkeeper’s exit after receiving from Arias), Fluminense did not have a good performance. Thus, the triumph was guaranteed only in the 26th minute of the final stage, when Matheus Martins won on the strength of the opposing defense to hit the exit of goalkeeper Vladimir.
Fluminense’s next commitment to the Brazilian will be next Sunday (26) at the Nilton Santos stadium. On the same day, Avaí receives the leader Palmeiras in Ressacada.
