The Fluminense Brazilian announced this Saturday to Fernando Diniz as the new coach of the team as a replacement for Abel Braga, who resigned last Thursday from the Rio de Janeiro tricolor after a series of negative results in recent days.
The 48-year-old coach will start his job as coach of the Rio de Janeiro club this Monday, according to the statement released by Fluminense. Diniz had been free since his departure from Vasco last November, a team to which he failed to return to the first division of the Brazilian League.
The Brazilian coach began his coaching career in 2008, the year in which he abandoned his career as a professional footballer. With a style based on intensity, possession of the ball and offensive play, he had already been against Fluminense in 2019 when he did not have an applauded management with the tricolor that reached the relegation zone which caused the cancellation of the contract .
Dinis has also directed Sao Paulo and Athletico Paranaense and as a player he came to defend several of the most important clubs in the country, such as Palmeiras, Corinthians, Flamengo, Cruzeiro and Santos himself.
