Three men who stole 8.5 million medical gloves and 57,000 masks N-95 from a supply company in Broward County, north of Miami, were sentenced to more than two years in prison and three years of supervised release, the US Attorney’s Office for the Southern District of Miami reported Thursday. According to a statement from the US Attorney’s Office in Miami, Jolly and Million worked at the Sunrise medical supply company, where they carried out the robbery, while Sinclair was employed by the trucking company contracted to move the equipment from the warehouse at company to front-line medical personnel.

In April 2020, “a time when hospitals were facing a critical shortage of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE),” Sinclair loaded additional pallets of PPE onto his work truck, “mixing stolen pallets with legitimate shipments.” .

Sinclair later delivered the stolen pallets to Jolly and Million’s home in Fort Lauderdale, where they “used cardboard to disguise the shipments.”

From there, they moved the stolen material, one of the largest PPE in US history, to other locations in Broward and Miami-Dade counties using rental trucks and vans.
