FlixBus today announced the call for a broad dialogue process with representatives of civil society, authorities, companies in the sector and interested passengers, with the aim of exchanging views on the challenges of modernizing mobility in the country. This initiative is part of the company’s long-term commitment to Peru and its vision of actively contributing to improving the experience of interprovincial transportation passengers.
The company indicated that the process will consist of various meeting spaces where it will seek to explain the benefits of its business model already tested in more than 40 countries in the world, as well as promote a constructive conversation about connectivity, operational and road safety, and travel options at affordable prices, as well as advance the digitalization of transportation, incorporating international learning and experience.
“We know that the debate on the modernization of transportation generates different perspectives among the more than 500 companies that operate interprovincial lines in Peru and, therefore, we want to open a broad space for conversation that allows listening, sharing international experience and moving towards a common vision on how to improve connectivity, security and the travel experience for people,” the company said.
Decision
Thus, with the objective of privileging a future presence without friction and strengthening dialogue with the different actors in the system, the company indicated that it has chosen to conclude the administrative process that it has carried out until now, as part of a strategic decision aimed at generating the best conditions for its future operation in the country.
In parallel, FlixBus will continue to prepare its entry into the country by developing its ecosystem of local partners to together deploy the best safe, sustainable interprovincial transportation network with affordable prices. A network that, in collaboration with our first partners in the country —Transportes ACV and Grupo Polo—, will have buses with the latest generation technology and professional drivers following the company’s strict international protocols.
They maintained that these buses have the highest safety standards, designed to offer a modern and reliable experience for users.
“Since its founding in Germany in 2013, the leading long-distance transportation company has transported more than 500 million passengers in the world, consolidating a model based on sustained investment in new markets and collaboration with more than 1,000 transportation companies (mostly MSMEs), located in more than 40 countries, and supported by a global team of more than 5,500 employees around the world,” they indicated in a statement.
The model has contributed to modernizing land mobility and attracting millions of passengers to the bus, improving safety standards and expanding access to reliable and affordable travel for millions of people in Europe, North America, Asia, South America and Oceania.
“FlixBus reaffirms its long-term commitment to Peru and its willingness to begin operations by providing a modern interprovincial transportation alternative that contributes to expanding connectivity, raising safety standards and strengthening formal transportation for the direct benefit of people,” they concluded.
