According to Aerocivil, “Due to conditions of zero visibility in Bogotá due to fog, it has been necessary to temporarily suspend operations from some airports“.
The entity added that this situation “will generate the cancellation of several flights scheduled for today“.
Latam asks its users to consult flights
Due to this adverse situation, The airline Latam asked its users to check the status of their flights.
Through its X account, the company noted that “Due to weather conditions in Bogotá, flights to and from the capital may be affected. Check the status of your flight in ‘My Trips’ at http://latam.com and in our mobile App“.
Furthermore, in a statement, The airline announced the expansion of the measures it adopted in response to this contingency.
“Faced with this situation, beyond the control of the airline, and with the aim of protecting passengers, Latam offers the following flexibility options“:
– Passengers affected by the cancellation of flights may change the date of their flight, without fine or fare difference, up to one year after the original date of the flight. Passengers who do not wish to change their flight may request a refund at no cost.
– Passengers flying to and from Bogotá this Saturday, January 11, may change the date of their trip without paying a penalty or fare difference, up to seven (7) days after the original travel date and subject to seat availability.
– Finally, Latam reported that “regrets the inconvenience that this situation may cause and will continue to monitor the situation to keep its passengers informed“.
