Senator Flávio Bolsonaro (PL-RJ), son of President Jair Bolsonaro (PL) and coordinator of the reelection campaign, thanked voters who voted for his father this Sunday (30). Bolsonaro lost the presidential race to Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva, who will assume a third term from January 1, 2023.
“Thank you to everyone who helped us to rescue patriotism, who prayed, prayed, took to the streets, gave their sweat for the country that is working and gave Bolsonaro the biggest vote of his life! give up our Brazil! God in charge!”, posted Flávio on a social network.
The senator is the first member of the Bolsonaro family to comment on Sunday’s election results. So far, President Jair Bolsonaro has not commented on the result.
With 100% of the polls counted, Lula obtained 60.3 million votes, which corresponds to 50.90% of the valid votes. President Jair Bolsonaro won 49.10% of the votes, adding up to 58.2 million votes.
