Flamengo beat Al Ahly, from Egypt, this Saturday (11) by 4-2 and ended its participation in the Club World Cup in 3rd place. The duel was held at the Ibn Batouta Estadium, in Tangier, Morocco.
This was the first time, in three appearances, that the club from Rio ended its participation in the competition in third place. In 1981, he shouted champion and in 2019, he was runner-up.
Right at the beginning of the game, right-back Varela was knocked down in the area and suffered a penalty. At 10 minutes, Gabigol charged and opened the scoring for the red-black team.
At 37 minutes, it was the turn of the African team to change the scoreboard. After Maaloul’s corner kick, Abdelkader’s header left everything the same.

The fifth goal of the game came from the third penalty of the match. Again Gabigol, in the 39th minute, scored for Flamengo. The red-blacks still expanded at 45 minutes. Pedro took advantage of the error in the opponent’s ball output and swung the net in Tangier. Endgame Flamengo 4, Al Ahly 2.
