Fixed investment in Mexico picks up 2.9% in March

Investment recovered lost ground in February when it fell 2.3% compared to the previous month. In addition, construction expenses had fallen 8.9% at the monthly rate.

At an annual rate, the indicator grew 4.1% and reached 97.3 points, a level higher than that of February 2020, when, on the eve of the pandemic, it reached 97.1 points. But it still does not reach the level of January 2020, of 100.2 points.

The investment is even further away from the maximum of September 2015, when the index reached 111.8 points.

Within the indicator, and in its annual comparison, total Machinery and Equipment expenses rose 6% and Construction rose 1.7%.
