Five thousand Dominicans will be trained in semiconductors, MICM announced

They launch the sixth edition of the Specialized Training Program for the Industrial Sector.

Within the framework of the celebration of Dominican Week in Spain, the Minister of Industry, Commerce and MSMEs (MICM), Victor -Ito- Bisonó and the general director of the School of Industrial Organization (EOI), Jose Bayonsigned a memorandum of understanding for the launch of the sixth edition of the Specialized Training Program for the Industrial Sector.

This program is aimed at Dominicans interested in the semiconductor industry as well as professionals in the industrial sector, in order to train specialized leaders, training in best practices and tools to understand manufacturing processes and investment management.

Thanks to this alliance, we hope to grant five thousand scholarships in 2025, promoting technological development and attracting foreign investment in the Dominican Republic“explained Minister Bisonó.

He highlighted that the agreement seeks to strengthen competitiveness and innovation in the Dominican industry and contribute to the development of experts who promote technological evolution in the country.

Within the framework of this agreement, the following training will be implemented: Technology program from scratch: introduction to semiconductors and the executive program in female leadership, which seeks to train 60 executives from the Dominican industry.

Also, the executive program on leadership and management of the industrial unions of local manufacturing that aims to strengthen the management of the unions, interlocutors of the MICM and an essential link for the adequate design of public policies on industrial matters.

This agreement contemplates the activities of 2025 and renews the terms of the collaboration developed between the MICM and the School of Industrial Organization since 2020 in terms of training and qualification for the Dominican industrial sector, highlighted the minister.
