Cicpc agents captured Carlos Armando Urbaneja Barrios (19) in Cumanacoa (Sucre), identified as the mastermind and material author of the murder of Jesús Rodolfo García Pereda (42), an event that occurred on January 22 on the banks of the Manzanares river. The body was found on January 25.
García Pereda was contacted by Urbaneja and other individuals who hired him to take them in his taxi to the banks of the Manzanares River.
In that vehicle, in addition to Urbaneja, Ronald José Galanton Jiménez (19); Douglas José Junior Presilla Zerpa (21), a minor under 17 years of age, and José Miguel Ortiz Mata (18). The latter is on the run.
The five subjects began to drink alcoholic beverages and after several hours, they murdered the taxi driver by hitting him with stones and a bottle. Then they threw the body into the Manzanares River and fled taking the murdered man’s vehicle: a Ford Explorer, license plate AB307JN.
The vehicle was painted to market it, a procedure in which Jesús Rafael Andrade Benítez (public official), Jesús Salvador Arrioja Benítez (37) and José Antonio Cedeño Welman (32) participated. These last two worked in the Public Administration, according to the Cicpc review.
