Five deaths reported in the Cibao region

Santiago. The authorities reported the death of five people, among them a teenager wanted for wounding a policeman with a bullet, two drowned and another with a shot, in events that occurred separately in Cibao communities.

In the El Semillero neighborhood of the Cienfuegos sector of the Santiago Oeste municipal district, Wilfi Rosario (Bubita), who would have recently turned 18 years of age, was killed while allegedly confronting police officers. Rosario was wanted for injuring a police officer in the leg with an illegal firearm, in a fact registered at the end of last year in Cienfuegos and for which he was wanted.

While a native teenager from the El Embrujo III sector of Santiago drowned in Playa Larga in the municipal district of Maimón in the province of Puerto Plata and his body was recovered in the waters of the Atlantic Ocean. The dead minor was identified as 16-year-old Estarlin de Jesús Mata Sánchez.

While in the municipality of San Francisco de Macorís, in the Duarte province, a police officer died when he fell into a tributary that flows into the Yuna River. The member of the order body responded to the name of Ramón de Jesús Suárez.

In another event, a man was found shot dead in an apparent suicide, according to the first reports from the authorities. Herminio Rodríguez resided in the El Flumen community of the Hato del Yaque municipal district in Santiago and his body was found next to his vehicle.

Finally, a Haitian citizen died on Monday as a result of the blows received, after being hit by a vehicle, on the Montecristi-Dajabón highway section. The victim is named Jean Maxi, resident in Haiti, who died on the spot. The foreigner was driving a motorcycle when he was hit by a Honda brand SUV, CR-V, license plate G603205, driven by Luis Javier Peralta Geraldino, who is being detained to be brought before the courts.
