The clubs of the Independent Professional Division Petrolero, Royal Pari, Guabirá, Real Santa Cruz and Blooming, issued a public statement in which they ask the national leadership to investigate and sanction those responsible for an alleged identity theft of an Aurora player.
This statement was made known this Monday afternoon and the aforementioned clubs ask to take immediate action.
“The member clubs of the Professional Division of the FBF, by virtue of the prerogatives that the Federal Statute attributes to them, inform the public opinion and the Executive Committee that we are becoming aware of a sports complaint for the crime of identity theft of an active footballer who participates in our 2024 championship as a sub-20 under the records of the Aurora club,” says the first part of the statement.
Although the player involved in the complaint is not mentioned, it has been known for several years that the person targeted is Gabriel Montaño, even the president of the Aurora club, Jaime Cornejo, referred to the issue last Thursday, strongly ruling out that there was age impersonation of part of the aforementioned footballer.
“We call on our national leadership to take immediate action and order an exhaustive, transparent and public investigation, and sanction all those leaders and people who are or were involved in this fraudulent practice that damages the healthy competition of our tournament.” , adds the note.
According to the rule, if the complaint is proven, the town’s team would lose points in the matches in which the player participated, in addition to a sanction for the footballer.
In the hypothetical case of Aurora’s loss of points, this benefits the teams that issued this statement, because Real Santa Cruz would be saved from relegation, Royal Parí would emerge from the indirect and Guabirá would also not run any risk, Independiente would have a chance at an international award and Blooming would secure his place in the Copa Sudamericana and leave aside the last place for the Libertadores.
“We will never again allow these types of actions wherever they come from in our Bolivian football. Therefore, we give full support to our president of the FBF, Mr. Fernando Costa, to take the corresponding corrective measures,” the aforementioned statement concludes.
